Do you find yourself singing along to holiday tunes as you blink through these December days? I do, too. One of my favorites is 12 Days of Christmas. I happen to like the Chipmunk’s version (and, yes, my family had this album). But that might not tickle your fancy. In any case, would you like a fibromyalgia or chronic illness version to perk up your day? How about singing the 12 Days of Fibro?
Recently, I wrote an article for ProHealth.com about stress management for the holidays. My article entitled, 7 Fibromyalgia Seasonal Stress Strategies, talked about Andy Williams crooning, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” I mentioned that there are lots of songs about seasonal fun, but we just don’t have any about the stress of chronic illness.
So, I wrote one.
By the way, you needn’t have a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic fatigue, lupus, MS, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal fatigue, etc. to enjoy this ditty. But if you do, it’ll be all the more relevant.
I hope you enjoy this “shopping list” of items that your loved one may want to purchase for YOU in this 12 Days of Fibro tune. I’ve put it into an easy-to-download PDF for your convenience. I’d love to see a video of you singing this version, so feel free to share with this community.
Enjoy, share with others, and as always … let me know what you think!
Merry Christmas!

So cute, and so true.
Thanks so much, Rebecca! I’m so glad you took the time to comment and say hello. It’s always my goal to support and encourage. But, if I can make others laugh – that’s a great healing message!
Love the 12 days of fibro, every word rings so true!! Personally I can’t wait for the holidays to be over!! For reasons other than and including my illnesses, Christmas is definitely not my favorite time of year!! I am do my best to get through by trying to remember to take care of me, not letting others stop me from taking care of me (something that took me years to learn and it is still an ongoing process!!), and giving only what I am able to give and being ok with that….like I said, definitely a work in progress!! Happy Holidays to you and yours!!
Thanks Debb — I think you’ve got the important parts down 😉 Taking care of yourself and giving what you’re able (and being OKAY with that!) is all anyone can do. Wishing you a very happy holidays, too!
What a cute and fun post. It certainly tells the story of us with Fibromyalgia. I just go over a 2 1/2 day flare up so the five heating pads were very much needed. LOL Thanks for helping me smile today Sue.
Irish
Irish – your smile was well worth it, then! Always happy to hear that!
Oh Stacy, how cool is it that God is working so hard in your life! It’s so amnziag to hear how far your body has come, prayer is so powerful but your absolute faith and trust in Him is just amnziag! what an inspiration!
I would love to read this. I can’t seem to download but that’s ok. It still brought a smile to my face wondering how the song went. Great idea and such cleverness.
Iris – sorry the download wouldn’t work for you! Email me at this site (www.RebuildingWellness.com) and I’ll make sure you receive the PDF. Merry Christmas!
