2020 Results – New Year New YOU!

What results would you like to experience in 2020? Better health or relationships? More creativity, spirituality, and inspiration? What would you like to drop or have less of? These may be simple questions, but the answers are far from simple. If they were, you’d already have it all figured out, right?

 

In 2020, let’s create something different. Together.

 

The Lies We Tell Ourselves About Healing

 

I’ve learned a lot in the past 20 years or so. I recovered from my own fibromyalgia health challenges in 2003 after being desperately ill for at least 20 years before that. It took over 15 years for me to finally get a diagnosis (I had to figure it out for myself and present my findings to a doctor for confirmation). I definitely know what it’s like to struggle and slog through the learning and healing process.

 

When it comes to the process of healing, here’s a summary of untruths I’ve either said to myself or heard from clients over the years.

 

People who don’t get better don’t heal because….

 

LIE: They don’t want it bad enough

TRUTH: Want has little to nothing to do with achieving results

 

LIE: They don’t have willpower

TRUTH: Willpower is NOT an innate trait you either have or don’t have (I dedicate part of a chapter to this topic in my book, Get Back into Whack)

 

LIE: They don’t have the internal resources to make it happen

TRUTH: It’s not about some intrinsic characteristic that anyone lacks

 

LIE: They don’t have the information they need

TRUTH: We live in an era of information-overload – we actually have access to too much conflicting and confusing information

 

LIE: They don’t have the “stick with it” gene that fuels momentum

TRUTH: When a plan is uniquely designed for the individual (with some key aspects in place), sticking with it happens naturally – no extra oomph needed

 

You may have more to add to this list. What have you heard or told yourself over the years?

 

I want things to be different for you. Over 80% of “getting healthy” plans that are implemented in a new year are dropped within the first six weeks. Rather than looking at the process as a sprint, I’d rather design it as a plan that’s ongoing and evolutionary.

 

The real truth about the lies we tell ourselves is that we simply haven’t found something that works … yet. But, because we haven’t tripped over it so far, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

 

What’s missing for most people is the lasting change roadmap. The plan. The structured step-by-step process that relies on proven successful methods organized in a manner that builds upon success.

 

This Plan is Different 

 

When it comes to creating results, we know that the brain is like a rubber band. It may stretch in a new way (with a little effort), but then it wants to automatically contract and go back to its original patterns.

 

This is why we may stick with something for a short time and then revert back to our same old life.

 

In other words — more of the same and nothing changes.

 

I personally know how frustrating this can be. I did it for decades in my life and I don’t want you to follow that same pattern. That’s why I’ve created a plan that maps out the potential pitfalls in advance. It anticipates where the typical person may stumble and offers alternatives of what to do instead.

 

The process of healing is different for each of us. That’s why there’s no ONE path or course that works for everyone.
