PLANTING SEEDS OF CHANGE
It’s in the air. Do you feel it? Change is coming … flitting on the wind … opportunity and events unforeseen. Things just feel different; do you feel it, too?
What matters most is how we view change. That regulates the results we see from what the seeds of change have to offer. Do you view change with hesitation, fear, or maybe anxiety? Or is change an exciting, anticipatory event for you? Of course it matters greatly what changes are occurring.
Yesterday was a day with wildly swinging feelings for me. I had an exciting event full of opportunity to share what I love to do best – reach and teach. I also had an event with life-altering news. C-H-A-N-G-E.
All I know is that I’m the only one who gets to choose where I’ll plant these seeds of change. Anticipating change with fear fertilizes the seed to germinate with angst, unrest, and worry. I’d rather do my best to stay in the present and take each opportunity for change as it comes.
My past experience provides me with a rich bounty of resources. I’ve observed that sometimes the greatest changes in my life have provided me with the greatest opportunities for personal growth and success. For this moment, all I can say is that I’m open to that.
I’m taking the following quote to heart today – what about you?
“If we don’t change, we don’t grow.
If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.” – Gail Sheehy
Dear Sue,
I met you today at the IIN Mega conference in Long Beach. I’m a friend of Diane Eblin’s. I look forward to getting to know you and your work so that I can recommend it to future clients. Best of luck with your book. As for this post, I agree wholeheartedly. I am in control of how I move forward with the changes in my life. It actually feels good to know that my thoughts can help determine how I accept (or not) the things that happen in my life. Thanks for sharing!
It was so great to meet you, Ellen! It was an amazing conference, wasn’t it? I’m happy to direct you to other posts that might be ones you’d like to share. I’m also looking forward to reading your posts as well. Email me on my website and let’s share!
