summertime-successThis short but powerful post will offer three quick and easy tips to keep you feeling in the pink for the summer months ahead. This summer, would you like to stay healthy and happy without all the hurry?  Read on for your summertime healthy success tips below!

1)Plan Well (but leave extra wiggle room)

Even though summer is the time for lounging and relaxing, sometimes that needs planning, too. Be sure to schedule your relaxation time as much as your travel and/or vacation time.

Schedule plenty of downtime for activities that feed your soul.

2)Eat Well (and be sure to enjoy!)

The best summertime meals are simple, fresh, and light. Focus on fresh from the garden greens and sprouts. Add seasonal berries and melons. Experiment with quick stir fry recipes using squash, zucchini, onions, crudites, and lemon juice. Try them with or without your favorite proteins including fish, chicken, pork, or beef.

Try new and fun flavors such as ginger, cilantro, parsley, dill, basil, mint, and more.

3)Sleep well (and don’t skimp!)

This one may surprise you. But when the sun stays up late, sometimes we do, too. Occasional late night fun is fine, but don’t let it become routine. Building up a strong habit of consistent sleep will help you in more ways than you can imagine.

Don’t think it’s that important? If so, you may wish to read Arianna Huffington’s new book called Thrive. In it, she describes what she calls a “Life of Well-Being” and she defines SLEEP as a foundational principle.

Fortunately, summer fun provides everything you need for a great night’s sleep. There’s nothing better to send you off into slumber land than a fun day that includes sand, the sea, and sky. Even if you live far from a beach, outdoor summer activities can provide the exact stress-relieving benefits that you’ve been looking for all year.
